SAG-AFTRA to resume negotiations with US studios
Actors union and studios to resume talks early next week.

Following the Writer’s Strike breakthrough, negotiations will finally resume between US actors and studios.
“SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP will resume negotiations for a new TV / Theatrical contract on Monday, October 2. Several executives from AMPTP member companies will be in attendance,” both sides have said in a joint statement.
The AMPTP and SAG-AFTRA have not resumed bargaining in good faith since the union, consisting of roughly 160,000 members, declared a strike on July 14th.
SAG-AFTRA negotiations lead Duncan Crabtree Ireland and union president Fran Drescher are expected to convene with the producers.
While the WGA agreement with AMPTP gives hope for optimism, the actors union has some individual concerns that need to be addressed in its contract talks. While they include thorny issues such as giving casts a percentage of streaming platform subscription revenues, there are also smaller points such as meal break penalty increases and size of relocation allowances.
SAG-AFTRA members continue to picket studios.
