Returning: Bump

Season 4 of scripted drama to premiere on Boxing Day.

Season 4 of Bump will screen on Stan on Boxing Day.

The series featuring Nathalie Morris, Carlos Sanson Jr (both of whom are honoured at the Casting Guild of Australia Awards tonight), and Claudia Karvan is now one of the longest-running local scripted shows on air outside of serials Home & Away and Neighbours.

Also featuring are Steph Tisdell and Dylan Alcott in his first acting role.

Now finding their feet in the world as full-grown adults, Oly (Nathalie Morris) and Santi (Carlos Sanson Jr) are trying to stabilise their small family unit with their challenging seven-year-old Jacinda. Vince (Ioane Sa’ula), Talia (Henrietta Amevor) and Ariel (Matilda Ridgway) have found their own stride with toddler Malik too, although the involvement of Reema (Safia Arain) as sort-of-half-step-mum complicates things a little – especially since she has no interest in having kids herself.

Oly’s first proper job finds her on a steep learning curve with her difficult boss Shauna who expects Oly to be available 24/7, while Santi struggles to redefine his masculinity as Jacinda’s primary carer, and no longer the primary breadwinner. At the same time, Dom is blissfully reliving his share-house years, while Reema and Vince reckon with the notion that their relationship may not have a viable future. Angie (Claudia Karvan) clings to the climate crisis as a distraction from her recent heartbreak, putting her at loggerheads once more with Rosa (Paula Garcia), whose growing restaurant empire seems far from sustainable. As the chaos of life shows no signs of settling down, our characters are forced to confront the question: how do you find hope and joy in the midst of an existential crisis?

The Stan Original Series Bump is produced by acclaimed Australian production company Roadshow Rough Diamond and its founders Dan Edwards (Stan Original Series Romper Stomper) and John Edwards (Love My Way) along with Claudia Karvan (Love My Way) and Kelsey Munro (Stan Original Series Bump S1, S2 & S3).

The series is co-created by Kelsey Munro and Claudia Karvan, with the returning Stan Original Series Bump writing team consisting of Nick Coyle (Wellmania), Jorrden Daley (The Longest Weekend), Timothy Lee (Mystery Road) and new writers Chika Ikogwe (Afro Sistahs) and Shanti Gudgeon (Stan Original Series Wolf Creek). Season four will be directed by Geoff Bennett (Stan Original Series Wolf Creek, Bump S1, S2 & S3), Margie Beattie (Stan Original Series Bump S1, S2 & S3), Rebecca O’Brien (Stan Original Series Bump S3, The Unlisted) and Ismail Khan (Barrumbi Kids).

Bump has proven to be a phenomenal hit internationally in addition to domestically, with broadcast deals with the CW Network (US), BBC (UK), ProSieben (Germany) and CBC (Canada) among many others. It received multiple nominations from the 62nd Annual TV Week Logie Awards and the 12th AACTA Awards, and most recently the 63rd Annual TV Week Logie Awards.

The Stan Original Series Bump is produced by Roadshow Rough Diamond and financed with the assistance of Screen NSW. ITV Studios is managing international sales.
