Big Little Lies third season in early development

“We are working on it," Reece Witherspoon confirms when quizzed on a third season.

A third season of Big Little Lies looks to be on the cards, at least if stars and producers Reece Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman have anything to do with it.

On the Golden Globes red carpet Reece Witherspoon told Variety, “We are working on it. Nic and I have been working on it a lot.”

Kidman also recently teased the return of the series, written and created by David E. Kelley.

“We will be bringing you a third one, just FYI,” she said while participating in a Q&A at the CME Group Tour Championship.

The 2017 series was based on Liane Moriarty’s book of the same name, and was further expanded into a 2019 sequel by HBO.

HBO declined to comment on plans for a third season.

  1. Reese* Witherspoon… Can she do any wrong? Looking forward to an S3 and have always enjoyed her work, especially the lesser known/ indie/ award win/nom stuff. Some sources say she’s close to becoming a billionaire, which she denies, already said to be at least half that, mostly due to her later career as a businesswoman/ producing.
