“The Caribbean is coming to Eurovision”

Is Eurovision extending its wings even further this year, man?

It’s not yet April 1, so it seems a social media post from the Eurovision Song Contest is genuine when it teased “The Caribbean is coming to Eurovision,”  earlier this week.

The vagueness has led to some online confusion, unsurprisingly, as to whether a Caribbean nation, such as the Bahamas, Barbados or Jamaica, may perform, possibly as a guest act.

Some fans are getting more vocal about the participation of Israel and Australia (SBS is a long-standing associate member of the EBU) in the contest, while others speculate it could be a sponsorship tease.

37 broadcasters were confirmed in December for Eurovision in Malmö, Sweden -without any Caribbean entry.

Australia’s act is yet to be revealed by SBS but safe to say it won’t be a reggae act…

  1. Fake news!

It is actually a publicity stunt to reveal that Royal Caribbean Cruises will be one of the official sponsors of the Eurovision song contest in 2024 and 2025!

  2. I think it could be more likely to be a performance or performances from European territories in the Carribbean, such as, Saint-Martin, Sint Maarten, Martinique, Aruba, Guadeloupe etc.
