Australia to perform at Eurovision Semi Final One

SBS is yet to announce Australia's performer for Malmo, as event plans continue in Europe.

SBS is yet to announce the act to represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo, Sweden.

But whomever they are they will be performing in the second half of the Second Semi Final in May.

Organisers drew placings from their lottery pots this week, designed to avoid bloc voting. A running order is yet to be determined.

SBS this week confirmed to TV Tonight there will be no Australia Decides for the second year running.

  1. I am currently watching Benidorm Fest(where Spain chooses their entry for Eurovision). Currently Semi Final 1 and 2 have been on and the grand final is tomorrow night (Saturday 3rd feb). Australia still needs to come a long way to work out what works on a European stage and not just for Australia. For those who are interested Nebulossa’s Zorra won semi final 1 and St Pedro’s Dos extraños (Cuarteto de cuerda) won semi final 2. Watch the reaction to Jorge Gonzales’s Caliente I will suspect will win. Oh for anyone interesting all of the performances are on youtube and its worth looking at Nebulossa and Jorge Gonzales (yes all appropriate to watch)

  2. May is not far away. How can SBS not have an announcement for the Australian participant yet? I’m assuming it’s Dannii Minogue but still let us know guys….

    1. Less than half of the participating countries have already announced their songs and artists. Broadcasters have until mid-March to do so. I like the idea of Dannii Minogue at Eurovision, but that song is really bland.
