Renewed: Great Coastal Railway Journeys

Third season takes Michael Portillo across United Kingdom and France.

No surprises here that Great Coastal Railway Journeys with host Michael Portillo embarking on a third series for BBC Two.

This series will follow the perennial travel host on a journey around the shores of the British Isles and beyond, from the petrified forest in Borth, Wales to the picturesque Tresco Abbey in the Isles of Scilly and across to the sea defences of the east coast.

He takes viewers across the English Channel to Northern France to visit the coastal Pas de Calais. Riding up front in the Eurostar cab, Michael enjoys fantastic views of the tunnel snaking ahead and emerges into the bright light of France.

Also showcased are the prehistoric secrets of Lyme Regis, the historic coastlines of Kent and the treacherous waters off the Norfolk coast, all accessible by train.
