SBS teases Eurovision 2024 announcement

Wednesday is confirmed as the day Australia will unveil its act for Eurovision 2024.

As tipped, SBS has now formally confirmed next Wednesday is the day it will reveal Australia’s entry to the 68th Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden.

SBS Australia’s social platforms will also offer for an extra surprise teaser on Monday 4 March.

Last year, beloved Perth synth-metal band Voyager placed ninth in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool, United Kingdom, with their song Promise. This year, the avid Eurovision fans – and now national treasures – are seated, ready to see who will represent the country in only a matter of months.

In a historic win, Sweden’s Loreen took out the 2023 title with her song Tattoo. This year marks the seventh time Sweden will host Eurovision after previously hosting three times in Stockholm (1975, 2000, 2016), twice in Malmö (1992, 2013) and once in Gothenburg (1985). It will also be 50 years since ABBA won the contest with their song Waterloo, setting them on course for global success.

Eurovision Song Contest is held from Tuesday 7 May – Saturday 11 May 2024 (CEST).

      1. The funny thing is Gina G even if she did represent the UK still was higher in the finals that the majority of the acts Australia has sent to Eurovision.

  1. I really, really hope that video was giving us a whole bunch of hints, but the reality is that it’s probably just Voyager having a bit of fun! Guess we’ll find out on Wednesday!
