Korean disaster drama series Goodbye Earth premieres on Netflix on Friday.

The 12 part series centres around the 200 days left until an asteroid collides with Earth on the Korean Peninsula.

After it is reported that an asteroid will collide with Earth and that the Korean Peninsula lies in the area of impact, martial law goes into effect and utter chaos ensues. Conflicts rise between those who believe in the catastrophic collision and those who do not, incarcerated criminals escape from prison, cults run amok and people clamor to immigrate to safer areas. In the midst of this chaos, Se-kyung (Ahn Eun-jin), a middle school teacher, is traumatized by the death of her student who had been kidnapped during a protest.

As the countdown of 200 days until the impending doom begins, there are those who continue to live for today.

Se-kyung, her friends and the residents of Woongcheon City struggle to survive and look toward tomorrow for the children.

Today, tomorrow and every day, we await the end. Together.

  1. A very, very much used scenario from ‘When Worlds Collide’ onwards-there was a German series of a few years back on SBS that was pretty much exactly the same plot (but in German).
