Lehrmann verdict due on April 15

Judge will hand down his findings in a high profile defamation case on Monday.

Justice Michael Lee will deliver his judgment in the defamation case brought by Bruce Lehrmann against Network 10 and Lisa Wilkinson at 10.15am on Monday 15 April.

The judgment was initially due last Thursday April 4 but was set back after 10 won its application to present additional evidence.

That led to Taylor Auerbach, a former producer from Seven’s Spotlight, taking the stand.

Former political staffer Bruce Lehrmann alleged a Project episode defamed him by wrongly suggesting he raped Brittany Higgins in Parliament House in 2019.

Lehrmann pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual intercourse without consent. His trial was aborted in October 2022 due to juror misconduct. The charge was later dropped altogether amid concerns about Higgins’ mental health. Lehrmann has always maintained his innocence.
