Ex-reporter charged over alleged domestic violence

Liam Cox arrested following alleged incident in Vaucluse on Saturday.

Former Seven and 10 reporter Liam Cox has been charged with choking and assaulting a woman in an alleged domestic violence incident.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports were called to a Vaucluse semi-detached house just before midnight on Saturday.

“A 39-year-old woman was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a stable condition,” NSW Police said.

“The following day, police arrested a 39-year-old man at a hotel in Bondi Beach.”

Cox was taken to Waverley police station where he was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV) and intentionally choke (DV).

Police also took out an apprehended domestic violence order on behalf of the woman.

Cox was refused bail and will appear in Downing Centre Local Court later this month.

After a 20-year reporting career  Cox joined communications firm Wilkinson Butler as a management advisor but has been stood down from the role.
