  1. has million dollar murders been renewed for channel 9? they really should do an episode on the Easey street murders in collingwood as that is a million dollar reward which referes to the premise of this tv show. im surprised channel 9 hasnt cought on to this

  2. Rebel Wilson has been announced as host for the upcoming AACTA Awards.

Although i’m not a big fan of her schmick, it is a big get, and hopefully will draw in a bigger audience on the telly.

  3. its a shame city homicide has become a forgotten classic, its no where on australian streaming services not even 7 plus, and no one talks about it anymore, what a shame it was such a good drama. the only place u can watch it is via the US version of the tubi tv app

    1. It’s easier for commentators and presenters now as it’s possible to use translation tools with a speaker function. It just requires finding out the language in which the name originates from. It can be done if the effort is made.

    1. I’d much rather watch Dancing With the Stars than Idol. Tipping Point should have Australia after it as British version will probably also be showing.

  4. Dull end to a poor season of ‘Fargo’-good actors can’t make up for an iffy, cliche ridden script and lame direction. Difficult to see getting another worthwhile season after these last two.

    1. I don’t agree with your opinion of the season… it was excellent imo. However that finale left me cold. Dare I say… I was quite bored from about halfway through that last ep. It got great feedback but for me it was a rubbish end and not in the spirit of Fargo at all. Why did so many people live? Frustrating. I didn’t care for Ole either so the strange scene and his behaviour in Dot’s house felt long winded and tested my patience.

  5. Question around comments: is there any particular reason that comments still need to be manually approved, as opposed to perhaps putting a CAPTCHA system in place to help drive away spam? I’ve always thought it makes commenting and replying a bit stilted as you don’t know when your comment will go live, nor when replies will go live.

Also, is there a way with WordPress to automatically allow email replies? Each time I tick “notify of replies by email”, I forget that I have to go to my emails and approve the subscription, which again might be hours or even a day later when I actually see the email, by which time the conversation may have moved on already.

    1. Yes comments still need to be approved. There are still defamatory comments submitted unfortunately and I need to remind some readers not to hurl abuse at others for their viewing preferences. Other sites may publish unmonitored but I take pride that TVT is not known for abuse. I will check re your other point and send you an email.

      1. I also appreciate David Knox keeping his personal blog in such tidy order…. I have been the recipient of an email after being put in the naughty corner unintentionally by myself…. without realising my mistake but I am glad David Knox pulled me up before I made an idiot of myself thank you… I am never offended when corrected.

        1. Hi. There is nothing easier than approving a comment that fits with site policy, regardless of whether I personally agree with it or not (and trust me amongst the 500,000+ published there are thousands I don’t, or that criticise me etc…. that’s all fine). But where people are openly disrespectful (of talent / creatives / readers / me) or submit defamatory /abusive remarks then I have to draw a line. I’m human, I don’t always profess to getting the moderation correct. In many cases I reach out to suggest they reword and resubmit, which is why users must keep a valid email. If they bounce back or a user doesn’t respond etc, it gets hard to resolve. But take it from me it is easier to approve than not.

  6. The latest Simpsons episode series 35 number 10 “Do the Wrong Thing” has just been uploaded. Disney+ Australia is now up to date with US. No more new episodes are airing until February.

  7. Oh what a wonderful series is Muster Dogs. One series I could find nothing to complain about with it. So happy for the winners but would’ve loved whoever won. Congratulations to all concerned, humans and beautiful puppies.

  8. 9 could have atleast remixeed their news theme music abit, theyv been using the same one for 20 years. this was the perfec topportunity while refreshing their graphics to refresh their news theme music

    1. Interesting that they presented the news from Australian Open for only one night. Normally
it’s every night the open is on. Someone must have realised that we could just hear Alicia and Tom over the background noise!

    2. Agree. The new graphics are “OK”… a bit big font wise, and busy to. Thought they would put a red dot where Melb is on their Aust map which is constantly on screen. Could do the rest interstate as well.

In fact, could 9 update their graphics across the board. They’ve been using the same old ones for so many years now (program names in corner after returning from adverts etc). I’ve noticed they’ve been using the “flat” 9 logo in promos for upcoming shows and the old 3D style logo in current shows (Today show, etc). Let’s wait and see.

  9. If anyone gave up on The Morning Show (Morning Wars) after season two, I understand why. But I persisted and chose to watch season three over the past week. I’m glad I did, it was such a good season. I found season one to be take it or leave it, and season two the most tediously boring show, with scenes that ran way too long, and any story build up just disappeared like the previous scene never existed. But season three had much better storylines that wound their way through the ten episodes. The scenes didn’t drag out to fill time, and I wanted to jump into the next episode. I’m now actually wanting to see what happens in season four when it’s released.

    1. Yes about time now add DW & NHK World and also NITV is Hd now and fetch’ vibe pack is shockingly bad why don’t they make a music pack get rid of vibe and ad the other 2 channels to variety pack

  10. As much as I don’t want to diss an Australian program and the possible reduction in jobs, I hope the poll results for MAF’s @ 8% are reflected in reduced ratings and we can see the end of MAF’s. Feel good reality Survivor for the win – Please

  11. Bill Hayes, who is best known for playing Doug Williams on “Days Of Our Lives” for 50 years, has passed away. He was 98 years old. And was still appearing on the Soap recently. He and on-screen (and real life) wife, Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie Williams) were the reason I started watching back in the 1970s. Sending love and condolences to Susan, his family, the Days Family and fans. He will be missed. He was a true gentlemen. Rest In Peace, Bill.

  12. Not since Yasmin’s Getting Married has there been a running gag in the Australian TV community like Fam Time.

In all seriousness, perhaps they should salvage Fam Time as counter-programming during the 2024 Olympics or as a 7+ exclusive?

  13. Watching it now on YouTube. It’s not good at all. The set is terrible and the colours are garish and clash badly. I can’t see this working in Australia, especially as a one hour format.

  14. Hi TVT/David, was searching the site for a kit on Nine’s 2024 Australian Open, starting a day early for the first time ever, on Sunday. Such as coverage insights, commentators (I believe Sam Smith’s 16th successive AO and Jim Courier’s 20th, congrats!), channels, times, BVOD (I think ad free and 4K on Stan too), any extra sneaky info etc? Maybe I should check back Sunday morning. I like to plan ahead as much as I can (even if schedules/ order of play are a daily changing thing), as it’s a smorgasbord, like a ‘mini Olympics’ but with one sport, often wanting to watch two or three matches at once and chopping-changing developments.
