No real change as Seven wins.

The more things change the more they stay the same. Seven has won its 9th week of official ratings this year.

It had a 27.4% share over Nine’s 26.6%, TEN’s 23.7%, ABC’s 16.4%, and SBS’ 5.8%.

In a week in which TEN made a pitch for ratings glory, Seven and Nine both lost ground but not enough to alter the status quo. And while TEN finished with its best weekly share this year it only edged up by .6%. Last year when TEN premiered the opening of Big Brother in the same week as The Biggest Loser finale it won its first ratings week in eleven years. Without Thank God You’re Here and a diminished interest in both its reality formats this year there was no chance of that being repeated.

Nevertheless The Biggest Loser will end the week as the number #1 show.

Nine’s second position will be all the more frustrating given it won the week in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. But Seven ranking a close second and taking out Perth and Adelaide again cemented a win for Week 17 (and further underlines PBL’s need to take the Perth affiliate from WIN Television).

Dancing with the Stars was again Seven’s top show. Seven’s other biggies included All Saints, Seven News, TT, Australia’s Got Talent and Desperate Housewives. Seven won Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

While Seven and TEN brawled for the same viewers on Sunday, Nine sailed through with a win. 60 Minutes was its top show followed by Sunday’s News, ACA, weeknight News, 1 vs 100 and McLeod’s Daughters. It also won Saturday.

Aside from Biggest Loser’s finale, TEN’s best were Big Brother, House, Law and Order: CI and a good public holiday win for its News on Wednesday. TEN won Thursday.

The ABC again caused headaches for the commercials with its Spicks and Specks / Chaser double. Next best was Curtin and Robin Hood.

Of concern this week are the following:
Big Brother is down on where it should be.
Nine’s News and ACA is dragged down by Bert’s Family Feud as Seven News is habitually taking the out the #1 show for the evening.
Nine needs to re-jig Tuesdays.
Ugly Betty has levelled out and may suffer from a BB leak.
8:30pm Wednesdays are under a renewed push and win by the ABC. House is been regularly toppled.
The Sideshow is only gaining modest figures in its Saturday slot.
