WIN Television has added two local news bulletins in regional Queensland.
WIN News Wide Bay premiered on March 16 and WIN News Mackay premieres on April 6th, making WIN the only network to broadcast local bulletins across all seven regional coverage market areas within the state.
WIN general Manager Geoff Massey said, “WIN recently commissioned research that showed 70 percent of respondents view local news as the most important.”
Television station facilities in Mackay and Wide Bay have been transformed into news centres linking to studios in Toowoomba and Rockhampton.
Local news will air at 6pm followed by Nine News at 6:30pm and A Current Affair at 7pm.
“WIN News is in a unique position; on the ground and involved in local issues because all journalists and camera-operators live and work in the regions they serve.”
The network now broadcasts 21 separate news bulletins across regional Australia.

i think out of rocky in Qld…according to the press release and a mate of mine that works at WIN..its a positive..before this they didnt have a local focused news
Like most WIN News, will this be made in Wollongong?
..and like other WIN News versions, will this one feature lots of stories about gerbera festivals and the like?
oh and its not MTN anyore…just like Prime Wagga isnt RVN AMV
ct – no they wont…and no Griffith doesnt need it…move on it will never come back…look at places like dubbo and bathurst…they dont have a local news either (orange bulletin)… you should be thankful you had a local news…and now i get told you get three or four stories including sport a night…instead of boring 5 minute non event stories…. if you miss it that much buy a newspaper or buy a TV station…move on its been years now
And will WIN restore MTN News back in Griffith instead of screening WIN Wagga News?
