‘Untitled Chris Lilley HBO Project’ casting

HBO has sent out the casting call for 3 American actors for a mockumentary that puts the male of the species under the microscope.

chrislilleyAn “Untitled Chris Lilley HBO Project” is looking for several US actors to appear in the comedian’s new television series.

A casting call for the HBO series, to be made in conjunction with the ABC, alludes to a mockumentary that “explores what it means to be a 21st-century boy by putting the male of the species under the microscope”.

Casting seeks an African-American female (18-25) to play a model called LaFonda, an African-American male, (50-65) to play a character called Carter, and a male Japanese-American professional skateboarder, aged (16-20) to play Corey.

The production is listed as being shot in Australia, most likely Melbourne, from February to April next year.

Lilley’s Summer Heights High attracted some positive, althought not universal, press when it aired on HBO.

When TV Tonight last asked ABC Programmer Marena Manzoufas about a new Lilley series last August, she simply said: “I think it’s a while off yet.”

What a stange quote Summer Heights High did very well when it aired on HBO. Everyone I know loved it, the ratings were good, and everything I read was positive.

  3. from all the promotion that he has been doing on twitter and magazines etc. i thought his new project was well into production already, not just starting the casting.

but good to finally have some real talk about this show. it was less than 2 years between we can be heroes and SHH. so we are kind of overdue. i can’t wait!!
