Former Nine Network journalist Michael Meagher has died following a skiing accident at Perisher, NSW, yesterday. He was 55.
Meagher, who worked as a senior reporter with Nine’s Wide World of Sports and its Business Sunday programme, was skiing an intermediate level run when he hit the tree, suffering head injuries, about 10am on Sunday. He was not wearing a protective helmet.
He died a short time later at the scene, police said.
Meagher also worked with The Australian, The Bulletin, BRW magazine, with in communications with the Australian Olympic Commission during the Sydney Games in 2000 and most recently working as an adviser with a corporate communications firm.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.

My condolences to his family and loved ones. Skiing can be really dangerous, same activity that’s taken the life of Natasha Richardson.
