Channel Nine is readying for a huge party to farewell GTV9 ahead of its shift to Melbourne Docklands.
TV Tonight understands staff received an email advising them to “save the date” of Friday December 10th with a promise of “the biggest party in GTV9’s history.” It is also expected to double as the annual staff Christmas Party.
Nine is moving to its new premises in the new year.
Initial talk of a party following the final episode of Hey Hey it’s Saturday proved too complicated with staffing and studio logistics.

So the open-day suggestion of yours hasn’t gone any further? 🙁
Doesn’t look like it. I know some were shrinking at the idea of staffing it. But I am sure there still others who would give up a day. Pete Smith and Peter Hitchener were already conducting tours for Senior’s Week.
I wonder if James Packer was invited to this party? Or was his invite just lost in the mail…
Should be good, The stories from past parties have been ledgendly.
Looks like it will be the party to end all parties. I guess the post HHIS finale idea would have been a lot more expensive: as Daryl would have invited the studio audience to join in.
