  1. the show has potential, but all ready it is becoming like a lot of US shows where you have episodes were nothing really happens and you’re left wondering “why did they need that episode?”

    @josh777 bunheads was crap.

    These shows, like other niche shows on secondary channels, would rate ~100k and generate revenue that was only a fraction of what they would cost.

    Cable, which generates 80% of its revenue from subscriptions on the other hand can make money from such small audiences.

  3. @ Pertinax – too true! The use of multichannels is an insult to FTA viewers as there is very little first run content (with the exceptions being reality styled shows on 7MATE such as American Restoration and Counts Customs, with the majority also shown on A&E). These ABC shows would be great primetime series on GO! and ELEVEN but what can you do.

  4. I doubt any of these ABC family shows would make it to FTA in the current climate.

    The networks are running their secondary channels on repeats and failures from their main channels. And soon they have to show lots of 2nd rate Australian content to meet a quota.

  5. This ABC Family output deal with FOX8 is the best thing to happen in a while as it has meant great series such as Switched At Birth have been able to be screened here (even though FOX8 purchases that large of an amount of ABC Family series it would have aired sooner or later, but with the output deal it means it’ll more likely be sooner rather than later from now on). I’ll definitely check the pilot of this out. But in all honesty I hope it doesn’t do too well otherwise Bunheads won’t be renewed.
