The Bastard Executioner on Presto

Kurt Sutter's medieval drama featuring Aussie Lee Jones is now streaming.

“Blood-soaked, medieval epic” The Bastard Executioner is now available on Presto.

The series from Kurt Sutter (Sons of Anarchy) was axed after a single season with Presto describing it as a ‘special event’ series.

Rife with rebellion and political upheaval the series also features Australian actor Lee Jones.

Set in 14th century Northern Wales, The Bastard Executioner tells the the story of Wilkin Brattle (Lee Jones), a warrior whose life is forever changed when a divine messenger implores him to set aside his sword and lead the life of another man: a journeyman executioner.

Wilkin walks a tight rope between protecting his true identity while also serving his mysterious destiny. Wilkin is guided by a mystical healer named Annora (Katy Sagal ‘Sons of Anarchy’, ‘Married with Children’). In addition to being under Annora’s control, Wilkin is manipulated by Milus Corbett (Stephen Moyer ‘True Blood’), a devious Chamberlain with political aspirations.

Wilkin traverses political and emotional pitfalls on his way to understanding his greater purpose – all while being driven by an increasing romantic connection with Baroness Lady Love Ventris (Flora Spencer-Longhurst ‘Leonardo’).

The Bastard Executioner also features series regulars Kurt Sutter, Sam Spruell, Darren Evans, Danny Sapani, Timothy V. Murphy, Sarah White, Sarah Sweeney, Elen Rhys, Ethan Griffiths and guest star Matthew Rhys. The series was created by Sutter, who will serve as Executive Producer along with award-winning producers Brian Grazer, Francie Calfo and Paris Barclay. The project is being produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions.
