The truth may still be out there for The X-Files, with FOX executives remaining optimistic about another instalment.
At their US Upfronts, FOX TV Group co-chair Dana Walden told press, “We have had conversations with (creator) Chris Carter and David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.
“I believe everyone is on board to do another instalment of the show.”
Noting that all key auspices are scattered around the world working in different locations, she added that “hopefully this season we will be able to get it done and that the same time next year (May), we will have something to announce.”
Those discussions have included talks about what kind of episodic order makes sense.
“Conversations are ongoing. I can tell you that all of them would like to do more of these, and certainly the network and studio want to do more,” co-chair Gary Newman added.
While there were mixed reviews for the revived X-Files, the event series was the second-most-watched FOX program on Video on Demand.
It aired in Australia on TEN.
