It’s taken half the year but Nine has finally won its first ratings week of the year.
It was State of Origin III that topped the week with 2.5m viewers -but Australian Ninja Warrior is the real success story, dominating across three nights. As high as 1.68m viewers the show is the biggest series launch since The Voice in 2012. Its power in demographic appeal can’t be underestimated, and Nine has a bonafide hit on its hands.
Seven took a hit this week with House Rules down for its grand final at 1.15m for the winner announced. As previously reported the official number for the Yummy Mummies premiere was adjusted from 755,000 to just 490,000.
But make no mistake -Seven has 19 weeks to Nine’s 1.

Impressive result for Nine to win Melbourne (with Seven having the AFL), thanks to huge Ninja Warrior numbers.
Wonder how the rest of Nine’s year will go?
Will all depend on The Block vs. Hells Kitchen vs. Survivor!
Seven played dead, easy win when the opposition shows Border Security and youtube videos.
And there’s no chance Seven will steal this week after timeshift either.
