At 32, “Travis” is the eldest housemate currently in the new Big Brother house.

From Victoria, Travis, is a truck driver who loves “The Castle” and can’t wait to fire up the barbie.

Great….

With 11 other housemates all aged in their twenties it doesn’t look like the make-up of youthful Aussies is about to change this year. I suppose if none are in their late-teens then technically it is an “older” group than last year. But that’s a moot point.

The names and photos of the housemates were first leaked on the Behind Big Brother Australia website, but have now been plugged via Sunday newspapers.

They include a former bodybuilder, karaoke host, opera singer, hairdresser, underwear model, lawyer and a mormon. One is the son of a Liberal MP -a nice response to the governmental anger of 2006.

Others will enter the house via public vote.

  1. Firstly, I totally agree with Murray …on both posts! As i said elsewhere, I hope the “young liberal” in the house makes a complete ass of himself … maybe he could even turn out to be Gay … that would be ironic!

    The only “sorry show” that needs to come to an end is people trying to legislate what we can watch and what we can do with the people we love! I suggest, Bill, you get your head out of the clouds and take off the rose coloured glasses … the values you hold do NOT give you the right to judge us or stop us from being treated equally with all other people in long term relationships … etc. etc. etc. …. you have your beliefs, we have ours, and we all need to accept each other and choose to live in peace not conflict and judgement. Clean out your own “closet” instead.

    As for “BB Uncut”, there are worse things shown on SBS every week and if it offends you don’t watch … but you and those in power have NO right to take away our CHOICE to watch it or not. Yes, the “turkey slapping” incident was wrong and stupid but did not justify the resulting media circus to any such degree.

  3. Oh my gawd… you can’t be serious “bill muehlenberg”… What “great” christian values exactly are you referring to? And as for the esteemed tag you gave that fuc**ng idiot and socially opressed Mr. Howard… what party drugs did you have this weekend?!!

    Every year its the same story… Big brother is not designed to please everyone, thats why if you don’t like it, don’t watch!! But alas, i’m sure you idiots will continue to watch and rant n rave that its not “socially acceptable”

  4. Well it doesn’t look that representative of our society, and obviously it’s not high art, or even the best TV we can make. But esteemed leader? Good luck with that one.

    Let’s see how the young Liberal housemate conducts himself shall, we?

  5. What a load of koddswallop, It really is an affront to humanity this program.. As a committed christian this show goes against the great christian values that this country upholds.

    Let us hope that the current federal government under our esteemed leader John Howard will bring this sorry show to its end!
