Halfway through the year Seven looks set to topple Nine’s long reign.

Several networks have sent out their mid year report cards, each with their own spin, some strategically overlooking the accepted boundaries that define the TV ratings year.

Daily ratings give the national averages (as opposed to peaks) for shows in 5 metropolitan cities between 6pm and 12am. Two weeks at Easter do not qualify. TEN has a habit of issuing Press Releases for certain demographics between 6pm and 10.30pm. In their new target of 18 – 49 they are losing to Seven.

Seven has won 18 of 20 weeks with two going to Nine.

The Australian Open is the most-watched event on television in 2007 (2.442m) while Dancing with the Stars (2.199m) is the most-watched event in the survey year.
