Fatty gets Footy Show lifeline

After ongoing speculation about whether he would be dropped from The Footy Show (NRL), Paul ‘Fatty’ Vautin looks set to stay with news that former Nine Sports boss Gary Burns is returning to the show as Executive Producer.

Burns is known to be a supporter of Vautin’s.

Last week he left racing channel TVN and has been offered the gig from David Gyngell.

He recently said, “Could The Footy Show survive? I don’t think so. The show was based around the unique talents of Paul and Peter Sterling. It would be tragic to see Fatty pushed out.”

Last year Vautin took a pay cut from $600,000 to $300,000.
