And here is a racy trailer for the Extras Christmas Special which airs today in the UK. Guests include George Michael, Gordon Ramsay, Clive Owen and David Tennant (clip may offend).
The 90min special is expected to be the closing chapter of the Extras series. It sees ‘Andy Millman’ wind up on a celebrity reality show as something of a ‘has-been.’ It also stars comedy partner Stephen Merchant and Ugly Betty regular, the wonderful Ashley Jensen.

yeah it looked good. loved the guests they got and i think george michael is really good to take the piss out of himself so much.
i agree that the producers or casting people for ugly betty liked ricky gervais comedies with both ashley jensen and lucy davis in the show.
also karl pilkington has a cameo in this xmas special!!!
Yep Ashley’s work on Extras obviously helped get her the gig on Ugly Betty. But you’ll see I put her alongside Stephen Merchant as one of the ensemble originals. 😉
This looks great. Season Two was excellent. I think Extras was actually even better than the Office.
Yeah a good show I warmed to it alot more in season 2. Didn’t grab me nowhere as much as the office did though.
It’s far less out-and-out comedy than the trailer suggests, this special. It’s very, very good, but expect a lot of pathos and soul-searching along with some very funny moments. The Clive Owen scene is priceless.
By the way, nitpicking I know, but Ashley Jensen was an Extras regular long before she was an Ugly Betty regular 🙂
