Foxtel king of the AFIs.


Foxtel had a big night at the Australian Film Industry Awards. TV1’s The King has won two key awards at tonight’s Australian Film Industry Awards.

The Graham Kennedy biopic won Best Telefeature or Miniseries over Bastard Boys and The Circuit. Stephen Curry also won Best Lead Actor in a Television Drama. He is pictured celebrating his win with Producer Jason Stephens and AFI winning director Matt Saville.

Claudia Karvan won Best Female Actress in a Television Drama and Foxtel’s Love My Way picked up Best Television Drama.

In the new international category, Dominic Purcell won Best Male Actor for Prison Break while Rose Byrne won Best Female Actor for Damages.

Other industry awards were handed out on Wednesday Night.

  1. Congrats to all deserving winners.
    I can’t say the same for Channel 9 show. It was pathetic and full of technical glitches. If you guys can’t make it look more professional don’t do it.
    Geoffrey Rush was fantastic though.
