Morrell gave ‘the performance of the year.’

Geoff Morrell as Chris Corrigan in the ABC’s Bastard Boys was ‘the performance of the year’, writes Graeme Blundell.

There are lists and summaries of the year falling around us left, right and centre (including on this site) but one article by Blundell is a thoughtful and articulate look back on the television year.

Written by someone who has been in the industry for years (Blundell goes back to Don’s Party, Alvin Purple and the Pram Factory theatre -to name a few achievements) it’s heartening to see him conclude 2007 was a good year for Aussie productions.

Blundell singles out The Circuit, East West 101, City Homicide,Summer Heights High, Love My Way, Great Australian Albums, Thank God You’re Here and The King as some of our best achievements. He’s slightly biased on that last choice of course, given he was Graham Kennedy’s biographer.

Still I don’t dispute any of those choices.

It’s a good read in The Australian.
