And as always, The Wiggles.

Press Release:

Channel Seven stars GRANT DENYER and KATE RITCHIE will host this year’s WOOLWORTHS’ CAROLS IN THE DOMAIN – as the event celebrates its 25th anniversary with the biggest line-up of Australia’s top voices.

Performing at CAROLS IN THE DOMAIN will be Australia’s first lady of song, Tina Arena, who will be joined by favourites Human Nature; Rachael Beck; Doug Parkinson; Tim Campbell; Christine Anu; Adam Brand; Leo Sayer; Troy Cassar-Daley; Yvonne Kenny and Australian Idol star Paulini.

And it wouldn’t be Christmas without The Wiggles – back for their 16th consecutive CAROLS IN THE DOMAIN – who will entertain the kids along with RAGGS and Alvin and The Chipmunks.

WOOLWORTHS’ CAROLS IN THE DOMAIN brings Australians together to celebrate the songs and spirit of Christmas. It also provides crucial support to The Salvation Army Christmas Appeal and The Salvation Army’s Oasis Youth Support Network.

Channel Seven and its regional affiliates will air the event nationally from 8:30pm on Saturday December 22. CAROLS IN THE DOMAIN will also be simulcast in Sydney via Mix106.5 FM. Print media partner The Sun-Herald will print the official Woolworths’ CAROLS IN THE DOMAIN songbook in their Sunday December 16 edition.

Grant Denyer returns to host CAROLS IN THE DOMAIN for a second year.

“I’m an absolute sucker for Christmas,” Grant says. “I love the Christmas stories, the way my neighbours become the Griswalds and decorate their houses like crazy people, the effort in shop windows and the rare chance for my family to get together again.

“We’re spread over three states, so sitting down for an all-in sing song watching the CAROLS IN THE DOMAIN is the true meaning of Christmas for me. It’s a family institution.”

Kate Ritchie is looking forward to co-hosting Carols for the first time.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be a part of CAROLS IN THE DOMAIN,” said Seven’s Golden Girl, who finishes her 20-year run on Home and Away a week before she takes the stage at the Domain. “I know it will be a fantastic night and a wonderful time to share the Christmas spirit with everyone.”

activeTV’s Michael McKay said: “2007 represents both Seven and activeTV’s 20th consecutive year of broadcasting and producing CAROLS IN THE DOMAIN – and we’re thrilled Grant and Kate will be at the helm.”

WOOLWORTHS’ CAROLS IN THE DOMAIN is proudly presented by Telstra and MLC.

  1. If the Carols started in 1983, it is not the 25th Annieversary in 2007, it is the 24th Annieversary of the original event. It may have been held in 25 different years but it is has not being held over an elapsed period of 25 years.
