Allo Allo to screen in Germany

Listen very carefully, I shall say zees only once.

Classic Britcom ‘Allo ‘Allo will finally screen in its last frontier -Germany.

What on earth would Lt Gruber, Helga and Herr Flick make of this news?

25 years after it first screened in the UK, the comedy set against the French Resistance and Nazi-occupied France, will screen in this most unlikeliest of markets.

Just what will the Germans make of the fallen Madonna with the big boobies, Officer Crabtree with his constant “Good Moanings”, the undertaker with the ‘dicky ticker’ and, heaven forbid, Edith’s unbearable cabaret singing? This could lead to WW III!

Broadcaster ProSiebenSat1 has purchased the rights to show all 83 episodes of the popular UK series which ran from 1982 to 1991.

“Both BBC Worldwide and ProSiebenSat1 are very happy about the deal. ‘Allo ‘Allo is a high quality programme which had not been picked up in Germany until now due to the subject matter,” a BBC spokeswoman said.

ProSiebenSat1 will dub the programme into German.
