As most of us know several of TEN’s key shows have disappeared due to the writers’ strike, House and Supernatural to be specific. Both return to US schedules late April.
Seven on the other hand has wisely held off the shows it fast-tracked in 2007 including Heroes, Prison Break and My Name is Earl.
So it’s a brave move to continue with Back To You through non-ratings. It’s a bright sitcom that is doing well for TEN, perhaps they don’t want to lose the momentum. But running new eps in non-ratings throws a bit of a spanner in the works given the last completed ep, the #10th, air will logically air on April 9.
New eps in the US return on Wed April 16, which would have been perfect for TEN were it not for that damned dateline. In Australian terms that’s the equivalent of about midday Thu April 17.
So what’s the answer? A double dose of Rules of Engagement somewhere? TEN might as well.
And where are new Simpsons? Bondi Rescue doesn’t look like moving anywhere soon -another winner for TEN. Though there will soon be a new half hour to fill at 8pm Thursdays when Saving Kids with Damien Leith concludes Thu April 10.

On the subject of shows that have now run out of new episodes due to the writer’s strike, does anyone know what is happening with Ten? Are they going to screen the remaining 4 episodes of Supernatural once they air in the US or will we be made to wait until the next season is about to air? And why can’t we have reruns of Supernatural on Monday nights? L & O : SVU is not rating terribly well in the slot.
Oh, and on Ten, I’m glad they’ve showed BTY and ROE early in the year. Less series for me to download. And they’re both good shows.
Contrary to bassborg’s comments, Heroes and Prison Break were among the most popular search terms in DDL and torrent sites last year. Much more so than reality shows. For me, PB’s latest season has been horrible and the final episode was a letdown, but Heroes got really good towards the end of the second season, which is remarkable considering the first 6 episodes were lacklustre and naff.
Yea in the case of Prison Break it didn’t matter holding it off anyway since the season is over.

The definition of a “lifetime” has changed significantly in this day and age….to some, having to wait just a few weeks is a lifetime to them.
Avoiding spoilers is really hard too if you like trawling TV websites 🙂

That’s not necessarily true. I only download shows I know either won’t air in Australia or will be a lifetime in coming — at least based on the networks’ records (e.g. Survivor and the Amazing Race). And there are too many people who are willing to spoil those shows by posting two words “xxx wins”.
Stuff like Heroes and Prison Break are important to Seven, so there’s not really much point in downloading them, and they can’t be spoiled quite so readily. I can wait.
whats going on with Prison Break in the US, I havent seen anything about it returning post writers strike..ive watched it since day 1 and will be devastated if its just left hanging, best that I can find on a US website is that its fate is yet to be determined.
Prison Break is over and done with would be interesting to see what the ratings will be like when 7 show it my guess not very good cause those that wanted to watch it would have already and not bothered to wait for 7 so most likely not a smart move…. ratings wise anyway…
