Road accident strikes Saddle Club family

The father of Lauren Dixon, re-cast in the lead role of Stevie in the ABC’s Saddle Club, was critically injured in a crash in Victoria on Monday.

The Toronto Star reports that Canadian musician Carl Dixon (pictured) was involved in a head-on collision. He was reportedly driving to Daylesford from a recording studio where he was working on an album related to the new series of the hit show.

“He really just needs all the support he can get and all the love of his fans,” a family member reportedly told The Toronto Star.

Dixon was reportedly visiting Australia for two weeks and was due to return this week.

Victoria Police have said a 40-year-old Canadian man was left in a critical condition after the head-on crash, which occurred in Ballan about 7.45pm on Monday.

Dixon’s official website says, “He is listed in critical but stable condition in The Alfred Hospital in Prahran. Carl was traveling back from a recording studio where he was working on a project for a T.V. show his daughter stars in there. Our Hearts, Love and thoughts go out to him and his family at this tough time.”

The driver of the other vehicle, a 32-year-old man from Jan Juc, was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with serious injuries.
