Returning: So You Think You Can Dance (US)

It’s time to take the hot tamale train again.

TEN is bringing back the American version of So You Think You Can Dance. Well, they always promised they would. It’s back from 7:30pm Wednesday July 16 in a 2 hr premiere.

The fourth season began airing in the US on May 22.

It will also screen on Friday July 25 for 2 hrs and presumably Fridays thereafter.

But the return of SYTYCD also puts the last two episodes of Back To You in some jeopardy. Both “House of Tomorrow” and “Hostage Watch” didn’t air in the US, and at this rate they may not air here either.

TV Tonight will keep you posted on this one!

  1. The ratings for Dance will be shot down next year. Australian Idol used to get around the 1.8-2 mill mark every episode until the end of season two. Then they aired two seasons of American Idol, The X Factor, that awful Starstruck show on Nine and that attempted reboot of Popstars on Seven. The third season of Idol took a massive hit and has never recovered since. I predict the same thing with Dance after showing the entire American fourth season along with more Dancing With the Stars and the novelty of the Aussie version wearing off. Meanwhile RoE and BtY will continue to sit there collecting dust. Couldn’t they hold off for just 2 more weeks to allow both shows to finish their runs? Oh well, doesn’t matter. Its not like we can actually trust Ten to actually reliably show a program from start to finish. Looks like yet another show I’ll be downloading.
