“VOZ reports will not be available today.”

OzTAM now advises there will be no numbers available at all today.

If you’ve been checking the site today for Sunday ratings, I posted earlier in the TV Lounge that OzTAM advised there would be delays to the delivery.

A further update from OzTAM at 4:12pm now advises, “Further to the previous email below, VOZ reports will not be available today. An update will be provided in the morning.”

This marks the first time since the revamped ratings that numbers have not been supplied the following day.

In 2020 its data supplier Nielsen was the victim of a ransom attack.

After TV Tonight broke that news, it took 3 days for an official statement.

“Nielsen has become aware of an unexpected disruption relating to the Australian TV Audience Measurement (TAM) data centre environment. This disruption is derived from a ransomware attack in which Nielsen was the victim. As a result, TV ratings data remains unavailable,” it said in 2020.

It took around 10 days for correct numbers to be reissued after a lot of internal wrangling.

This week’s problem may not be anywhere near as dramatic but is most unfortunate for networks and sponsors given the major overhaul of ratings in 2024.

Fingers crossed for better news tomorrow…
