Third series for Erky Perky

Australia has a fantastic track record in making quality kids telly, so it’s good to hear a third season of Erky Perky is in pre-production.

The series will air on Seven in late 2009, Ambience Entertainment has confirmed.

The 26×11′ series will again be a coproduction with Ambience and Canada’s CCI Entertainment, with 3D work undertaken by Sydney-based visual effects house The LaB Sydney.

“We’ve developed a great animation style for the show and have learnt what really works for the audience,” said Ambience’s head of animation, David Webster, who will resume directing duties on the new episodes.

Erky Perky has previously sold to TV2 in Denmark, Sopresa in the US, SRC in Canada and HBO Asia. CCI’s distribution arm, CCI Releasing, will now have a total of 78 episodes to sell to the world market.
