Auditions: Farmer Wants a Wife

Nine is so confident of its dating series, it's moving onto a fourth series before the third has even aired.

Nine is moving onto a fourth series of Farmer Wants a Wife, before the third has even aired.

Producers are searching for “real farmers aged between 25 and 45 who are looking to meet their one true love. Bachelors, must be working farmers, be it grazier, dairy, citrus, oyster, etc.”

The show hosted by Natalie Gruzlewski was one of Nine’s bigger hits in 2008, ending with an impressive 1.7m viewers for the finale.

Nine is also running some very well-produced promos for the series, which returns in February.

Applications for series 4 close February 6th.

Press Release:
Australia fell in love with the first two series of The Farmer Wants A Wife, with the highly anticipated third series due to premiere on Channel Nine in early February. Following on from the overwhelming viewer response in 2008, the Nine Network and FremantleMedia Australia are now casting farmers for the welcome return of the eagerly anticipated fourth series.

Life remains tough for our famers – they face not only the drought, but terrible isolation and loneliness. It’s almost impossible for farmers these days to meet their soul mate.

The Farmer Wants A Wife is a feel-good story of love and romance. This is not a competition. There’s no prize money and the only winner in the end… is LOVE. We simply follow the story of Australian farmers meeting new women, exploring new relationships and trying to find their soul mate.

The ultimate goal is finding true love just as our series one favourites Chris and Kim did, who tied the knot last year in a romantic ceremony in Tamworth. Rob and Jo also felt the ping of cupid’s arrow and we can hear the sound of wedding bells ringing in the not too distant future from Mt Gambier, proving that the farmer really can find a wife.

The Farmer Wants A Wife is offering Australia’s most eligible farmers a solution to their ‘love’ problem and the chance to be a part of this hit feel-good show’s fourth series. This might be our farmers’ one and only opportunity to really find true love.

The Farmer Wants A Wife will initially see a dozen farmers profiled on a website, and through a series of events that will feature in the televised series – speed-dating, country stays and city escapes – they will be reduced to six couples.

We are searching nationally for real farmers aged between 25 and 45 who are looking to meet their one true love. Bachelors, must be working farmers, be it grazier, dairy, citrus, oyster, etc.

Interested farmers should drop an email with an introduction by February 6, 2009 to:
[email protected] or call (02) 9434 0791 to register your interest.

The Farmer Wants A Wife is a FremantleMedia Australia production for the Nine Network.

  2. So addicted to this show! can not wait for the next series!
can someone tell me what the main song for the show is called!???

  3. Love the show! Its Aussie and its something a bit different. However, someone was telling us a guy got rejected because he didnt actually grow anything on his farm for example he only had sheep and cattle. Living in a rural area myself I really enjoy watching it every week and cannot wait until next year. Lets hope the host drops the lame catch phrases!

  4. how do i become eligble to try and win one of the farmers hearts i’m interested in falling in love and getting my hands dirty i look forward to hearin from you Danak Vong

  5. Good to see the 3rd series return of FWAW. How many more CSI, NCIS, Mentalist, Flashpoint, Cold Case shows can you watch!!! It’s a good wholesome show with some quirky twists that demonstrates how love can actually evolve. I assume those who don’t like the show would be those who have never been lucky with love???

  6. can some one tell me how many girls farmers have ever been looking a husband on a “Farmer Wants A Wife”

    Thanks

  7. No email required. Audition info for shows is posted here as it is received, including for previous Farmer series.

As a rule Nine’s website usually calls for singles for the Farmers.

  8. I watched the 2nd series and wondered how to enter for the farmer that wonted a husband I still don’t know how ever it did seem that it had all happened in advance so by the time it got my interest it would have been to late
Feel free to email me on that

  9. I believe the dash should be between the “well” and “produced” i.e. “very well-produced”. I know, my pedancy even makes me sick! LOL Actually, is that how you spell pedancy? Is that even a word? Oh, the irony!

But you are right, those ads for the show are really memorable. I can’t get that song in the ads out of my head. Anyone know what it’s called? – sounds like Queen…

  10. “There’s no prize money and the only winner in the end… is love.”

Ugh, somebody get me a bucket….

  11. My nephew Danny loves this show – however he is a loser. He wants to be a farmer when he grows up. I’m glad for him..

  13. I tihnk the appeal of watching this is that the show is very loose in it’s premise – not all the farmers sail off into the wheat fields with someone, the amount of girls the farmer has to choose from is based on how many applied for that farmer, and of course it’s fun to see city girls realize that farming actually means farming. There’s been some interesting twists too, like when one farmer got down to two girls and rejected them both for someone he’d met prior to the show.

  14. I don’t understand what would compel a person to watch a show like this. Its pretty much The Bachelor but with the novelty of an outbackish farmish gimmick. That said it will probably rate around the 1.9 million range. Nonsensical, but if 2.5 men works 10x a week, why not this??

  15. This is one show on Nine that I like.
Could be Natalie G, could be way stories are told, could be no guaranteed happy endings.
Probably just nice relaxed stuff to watch

  16. not my type of show, but its good news for you fans.
and is 1.7million viewers for a final considered good?
when you consider when its on, a monday night i think?

  17. Agree the promos are brilliant, more interesting then the show! Not my cuppa tea but it does seem to rate well.

  18. they can’t wait 3 weeks. what if FWAW is this years DWTS and pulls enexpected unimpressive numbers, then they will be stuck with it and 2 seasons a year will only run it into the ground even more.

don’t watch it, doesn’t effect me.
