Auditions: Project Runway Australia

Are you the next big thing in fashion? The hunt is on once more for Arena's second series.

kristy_henrySeries two of Project Runway Australia is on the hunt for its next flurry of fashion designers.

Last year Brisbane’s Julie Grbac won Arena’s reality series while FremantleMedia won universal applause for delivering an entertaining show with genuinely talented contestants.

The opportunity to showcase fashion talent is certainly a good leg up in a competitive business.

Host Kristy Hinze returns to the role, and isn’t shy in reminding us of her enthusiasm for the gig.

“2009 is going to be a massive, amazing year for me,” she said. “I am madly planning my wedding which is very exciting. After our honeymoon, I am delighted to come back home to make another season of Project Runway Australia. Last year, hosting the show was an absolute career highlight, and I am so proud to be involved in such an incredible show.

“Diving head first into my first hosting role was really challenging and the excitement of working at such a pace alongside some of Australia’s fashion elite was extremely rewarding. I loved the nervous energy you feel working in front of the camera and the thrill of the final fashion show gave me such a high. I loved it!” she said.

“Melbourne gave us a great background to create the series, and the style and substance of the city were a perfect match. I’m really looking forward to returning in April to do it all again.

“I just had a wonderful Christmas and New Year at home with Jim and my family and the buzz surrounding the second series was just amazing. We found so much talent the first time around – Australia really is a breeding ground for the designers of tommorow.”

But back to the designers… which is what the show is really all about, right?
