Faye Dunaway for Grey’s Anatomy

Faye Dunaway is set to visit Seattle Grace Hospital. But Melissa George is on the way out.

“Tina, bring me the axe.”

Faye Dunaway is said to be due to guest star in Grey’s Anatomy.

According to Michael Ausiello at EW.com “the Oscar winner who hasn’t taken a small-screen gig since a 2006 episode of CSI has signed on for at least one episode of Grey’s Anatomy to air in February. She’ll play a renowned doc at the hospital who crosses paths with the Chief, Cristina and Owen.”

Assuming this happens, it will surely be worth catching. Dunaway is such a commanding performer, and sometimes a complete scene-stealer too. Aside from her hilarious stint in Mommy Dearest, she is well-known forstar turns in Bonnie and Clyde, Chinatown and of course, as a scheming television exec in Network. And we won’t mention Supergirl. Ooops.

Meanwhile, Melissa George says she has quit the soap, and it was her own decision. George says she simply wants to “do something else.”

An insider said “Melissa’s arc came to a natural end. Everyone at the show adores her. We’re genuinely sad to see her go.”

  1. My first thought when i heard about Melissa leaving so soon was that she clashed with one of her costars. Remember, She and Dieter Brummer didn’t get on, when they worked together on Home &away.

  2. oh its not not that bad john, either are the ratings, in the US atleast.

i don’t know Faye that well, the part of the article that got me was about melissa george.
“George says she simply wants to “do something else.””
does she think she can get away with being that picky in showbiz. especially as she is only in the early stages of her career. i can’t imagine her getting any higher job offers than in greys anatomy.

don’t like her at all she not even Australian any more.
