  1. Try Internode as your ISP. They do not charge for iView,
    it’s unmetered.

Coming from Germany, I agree, Internet and phone services and charges are far too expensive in Australia and years behind with their services.

  2. The Biggest Loser Club does not deserve a win in that category. That’s a joke. I hope they didn’t win as someone needs to blow their practices to the media.

  3. Pretty much useless with Australia’s rubbish and overpriced broadband service. Unless all ISPs unmeter this stuff, it’ll never reach mainstream levels. And even then, I’m not sure the framework could cope with the amount of video data moving around.

  4. Definitely credit where credit is due. The ABC and SBS do a much better job of integrating their media sites (for all the general complaints people like to send their way) and delivering added value/content for their shows.

The commercial channels for all their money are not even in the race and really don’t seem to understand their viewers (and the opportunities presented) at all.

  5. iView is ok, it lacks decent content (not that i watch a lot of ABC, but it needs spicks and specks) and usability features (like a less clunky menu system, update notifications, linking to specific shows instead of specific episodes). The potential is there though.

  6. Scorched got a nomination for Nine.

A handful of shows from the commercials have been improved and dedicated: Home & Away, Sunrise, several of TEN’s reality shows spring to mind. But I agree they have light years to go.

  7. I agree. I think abc are really trying to get telstra to do it. On the iview entry page it says ‘telstra does not offer unmetered iview’ or something similar, but makes no reference to other networks. Knowing telstra they won’t though.
