Canadian action drama is gone in a Flash from the Nine schedule. Plus an update on Without a Trace.

More decision making at Nine has seen it change plans for Wednesdays, which were issued yesterday.
Canadian drama Flashpoint is now out of schedule entirely, replaced by a second repeat episode of Cold Case.
This means Wednesdays are now:
7.30 The Farmer Wants a Wife
8.30 The Mentalist
9.30 Cold Case
10.30 Cold Case rpt
Elsewhere Nine has also decided NOT to bring back new Without a Trace this Sunday night at 11pm, instead opting for a repeat and delaying the series return until 10.30pm Sunday March 1.
Perhaps if Nine hadn’t slated confusing “Sneak Peek’s with out of sequence Flashpoint episodes it might have drawn a bigger audience.

Put Fringe on you dorks! Erm on the other hand, don’t bother, it’s been seen by 2,000,000 peeps in Aus
I’m not a fan, but I don’t see why they could not have put it at 10:30. And I agree, between showing confusing ‘sneek peaks’ as well as showing the eps out of order, Nine had already forgone this becoming a hit – which I think it may well could have.
I still wait for the headline on your blog
Gone: Nine’s Programming Department!
Can’t wait for the NRL Footy Show and Friday Night Football to return next month. At least those two programs (NSW and Qld) don’t get bumped.
David, your last paragraph i close to the truth and mostof the folk on here, said so when Flashpoint sneak peaks started.
I would alter it a bit – “Now if only Nine hadn’t slated confusing “Sneak Peek’s with out of sequence Flashpoint episodes it might have drawn a bigger audience and hadn’t changed theor mind about whichep washoing to be shown each week”
Flashpoint was Nine’s big hope – now it is gone.
Where are all the pro Nine folk saying Nine did right thing with snesk peak, out of epsorder etc. ?
Interesting considering Flashpoint rates great in the United States and Canada…
just started watching flashpoint and have really enjoyed it but feared it will be cancelled, maybe if the eps were not played out of order and calling whole eps sneak peaks this show may have rated well, channel 7 understands sneak peak mean a few minutes of a show not whole eps out of order. yesterdays ep showed two character meeting for the first time even though the week before they worked together and even kissed cause nine wont show the eps in order.
And so the final inevitable move has been played – Nine removes Flashpoint entirely from schedule.
I mean fair dinkum Nine, it is not that difficult. It really isn’t. You find a timeslot that you think is suitable and play the first episode, the next week you play the second episode in the same timeslot, the third the week after. Follow this procedure until all the episodes of the season have been aired. Now what the above do you not understand??
This whole saga with sneak peaks, out of order episodes and changing timeslots should be used as a case study in idiocy!
Without wishing to excuse Channel 9 programmers in any way (because they are awful!), Flashpoint was never going to survive.
Aargh: As many here have already said: What a perfect opportunity for Survivor!! 10.30 spot up for grabs. Instead, we get repeats of a show that doesn’t even rate well for new eps.
Where is The Bachelor? Nine has a few seasons they have not showm.
And there goes a perfect op for them to screen Survivor: Gabon…
Meanwhile, in a couple of hours I’ll be settling in to watch episode 2 of Survivor Tocantins 🙂
Nine is very confused. It is a battle between the old Nine and the new Nine on every front. Personally I think they should properly promote the HBO shows they get from time to time. West Wing was badly programed, Six Feet Under was was like a ship in the night, Sopranos could have been bigger here and The Wire? who knows about that show in Aus? They could promote it as Obama’s favourite show which he is qoted as saying. Instead of panicking week to week about ratings they need to grow their audience again, legitimately. Not with shock tactics of “Hey check this out its a sneak peak” or stupid gimick shows that seem designed by a computer. Bzzt-bzzt! (Computer voice) “Farmer want s a wife” Zap! (printing noise/ tairing paper) “Humans like farmers and woman” kssshhhhh!!!!!
well in regards to the tally we finally have our first “anticipated new show” cut.
flashpoint was what some people predicted but most people said either wipeout aus, L2L oz, or life on mars.
and after almost 2 ratings weeks ten is still clear of a notable cut, no one saw that coming, good on them.
well 9 really did screw up this show from the beginning. by showing whole eps during non-ratings as ‘sneakpeaks’, people interested in the show would not watch eps shown only weeks ago. also the fact that they were shown out of order made it difficult to follow.
this just shows that the idea of showing full episodes as sneakpeaks is a very stupid and misleading strategy. the words ‘sneak’ and ‘peak’ should mean that they will show only several mins of the show as a teaser.
A waste of a good show… How hard is it for Channel 9 to play a show in order and keep it in the one time slot.
Note to Ch 9 – Look how CTV and CBS handle the show
Hopefully it is played over summer from the start and gets a good audience.
I think Eleventh hour is going to be on post-Underbelly.
This is why I don’t watch Nine.
What is long term for ch9, any bets it could change again before next week?
There are lots of shows ch9 could air instead of a re-run.
Sod Cold Case – I want my Weeds !!!
I never bothered with Flashpoint after the way the “sneak peaks” were handled. You really have to wonder whether the people making the decisions can walk and chew gum at the same time.
I am glad ch9 showed at least 3 one hour episodes (sneak peak….more like a mini-series) of Flashpoint as I watched it, realised it was the usual North American crap and made a definite decision not to watch it again. Well done ch9 programmers, you saved me a lot of wasted time.
PS I think you also stuffed your show….no change there eh?
yes i agree with Jerome. (don’t forget gossip girl)
9 has so many great 10:30 type shows waiting in line, which rate well at 10:30. A vacancy finaly comes up and they fill it with a repeat of a low rating crime show. it seems a waste of a much needed timeslot. i don’t mind CC but there are so many shows i would rather see on air than a repeat of it.
but this can’t possibly be a long term thing. can it? but knowing 9 anything could be true but it seems like a teporary thing. to let the CC fans know it has changed time.
The programing manager ch9 needs to write a paper “Ten steps in how to screw a show without trying!’
They bought this on them selves, the ‘sneak peak’ didn’t work and now a good show is lost, they were almost caught up to the US so they could have even used the ‘fast track’ promo again!
Ch9 might own Sunday and Monday but in 3 month UB will be over, then what?
survivor? fringe? ER? why a CC repeat, new eps don’t even rate that well.
Nine’s programming department are in a shambles right about now. The schedule is a horrible mish-mash of incompatible programs, confusing viewers with sneakpeaks and one off screenings….they had potential this year with the programs they have but they’ve made a total mess of it, the whole networks primetime schedule looks like a dogs dinner. Horrible.
As for flashpoint – it at least deserves a shot at 1030.
I still think ‘Without A Trace’ is wasted in the 10:30 timeslot…. Maybe post ‘Underbelly’? Or is ‘CSI: New York’ getting that?
