amandakTEN has announced extra panellists for Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation, the new name of its cross-generational panel show, previously dubbed My Gen (is the new name really an improvement?)

The team captains will be Amanda Keller (Swift & Shift Couriers, Mondo Thingo) will appear for the Baby Boomers, comedian Charlie Pickering, best known for his Foxtel series The Mansion, will represent Gen X.

20yo comic Josh Thomas (The Sideshow) will be the Gen Y leader.

The panel show by Granada is hosted by Shaun Micallef and set to air mid year on TEN.

  2. I don’t think the name is that bad, and I suspect that the origin of it is English, not American. The Who song “My Generation” has the line “talkin’ about my generation”. My guess is that is a slight variation on that, not something Marcia Hines came up with. Perhaps though this is something that will pass over the head of Gen Y?

  4. Marcia Hines did not come up with this catch cry…it is an American phrase and Marcia just uses it to try and sound hip…which she is not. Bad title but pretty hard to come up with something that even remotely suggests what the show is about.

  5. Talk about a name that is based on Marsha Hines’ catchphrase thats what i am talkin’ bout. Seriously though this sounds like another one of those Good News Week style panel shows. In saying this i think i will be tuning in as i love these type of shows.

  6. Awful, awful name… but great to see Micallef back on, just a bit concerned this won’t be anywhere near as good as Newstopia. And Amamda Keller? Really? People like her?

    a) do you have a twitter account and
    b) are you able to include twitter accounts that relate to the people you are posting about i.e. in this instance amanda keller…

    I have a twitter feed informing me of all the new celebrities that join twitter and to have this included in your posts would be just fab..

  17. Yea, I agree, that name is horrible. If they want “Gen Y” (People like me) to watch it they really need to get away from what they think young people consider cool, and get a young person to name it!! Ten is seen as a more youth oriented network, but they seem to have trouble in the naming department…

    Just to stress the point, that name is really bad!
