  1. Wonder how everyone will handle twitter when they start getting a tweet every few seconds from all their followers or people they are following? As Twitter grows, it will need filters like you can on the Facebook wall to prevent serial facebookers from clogging up your wall. Personally, I don’t need to know what everyone is doing every moment of the day and nor do I want to tell the same.

Hope ch 7 does the right thing for Amazing Race fans.

  2. Twitter is basically just the “Status update” section of Facebook. You basically have followers (people who receive updates on what you post) and you follow others (you receive updates on what is posted by those you follow). Celebrities are using it because it’s an easy way for them to keep their fans updated on their thoughts and activities without going to the trouble of maintaining a full website. Madonna’s manager recently used it to get feedback from fans on what should be included on her forthcoming career-spanning Greatest Hits collection, while Ellen DeGeneres uses it to give away free tickets to the taping of her show (e.g. she “tweets” that the first four people to turn up at a particular bus stop dressed as a super hero will receive tickets to that day’s show etc.). Even Oprah has jumped on the bandwagon, going live for the first time today with Twitter.

Facebook is still infinitely more popular worldwide.

  3. excellent! Looooooove TAR, only way it could possibly be improved is if producers hark back to first few seasons when the routemarkers were far more tricky/cryptic.

  4. Season 14 is one of the best easily. Have been getting it sent over, excellent to hear it will be going around again. I’ve also heard that they don’t like going to places where the show is a success because it ruins the surprise when word gets out.

  5. just quietly- I’m quite the fan of The Amazing Race. Just one of those shows that you can sit back and relax to watch, while keeping you hooked with the suspense created by team conflict and constant obstacles, plus the excitement of finding out what exciting travelocity prize will be given at the end of each leg of the race.

  6. @Lostfan: Twitter is only like a fifth of what Facebook is. It’s just the “what are you doing now?” status part of it. The idea is to ‘follow’ people and see what is going on in their lives. Like a mini-blog, and a lot of celebrities have it. Facebook is still way better.

  7. ive heard so much about this ‘twitter’ lately, yet I know only 2 people who actually have it. Everyone still uses facebook. So is twitter the new facebook in the us?
