Grey’s to drop another character?

SPOILER: A season finale of Grey’s Anatomy in the US next month could be the end of the road for an original character.
George will be seen heading off to war as an Army medic.
But actor T. R. Knight has no idea if it means he is being written out of not.
Frustrated by a lack of airtime, Knight had asked to be released from his multiyear contract.
“T.R. doesn’t know whether George lives or dies,” a source told EW.com. “And, as a result, he doesn’t know whether or not he has to come back next season.”
Creator Shonda Rhimes has until mid-June to decide whether to drop Knight — and all indications are she will use every last second of that time. Some are suggesting she may be forcing Knight to sweat it out as payback for wanting to jump ship.
“At the end of the day, Shonda is going to do what’s best for the show,” maintains the source. “Everything else is just idle gossip.”

I agree, he has been one of my fave characters. I don’t like his lack of air time, his character has been fine.
Shonda sounds like a tough bitch to work for. Surely an actor asking for more airtime is hardly something to drop them over….
