home MADE will change the world

Nine's promo department has gone all out to convince us its new renovation show will change our lives.

homemadeThe Channel Nine promo department has gone all out -ALL OUT!- to excite us with the upcoming renovation series homeMADE.

Set to the soundtrack of a dramatic classical score, there is no adjective stone left unturned.

“10 of Australia’s hottest designers. Every week their challenge to renovate two entire homes in just five days,” it promises.

From there, quotes from contestants, home-owners and Nine’s voice overs pull out all stops to ramp up the excitement:

OMG
It’s Crazy
It is Better than winning the lottery for us
Such an emotional rollercoaster
Never before have you seen a show like this
Unbelievable
It’s pressure
It’s mad
What a nightmare
It’s life changing
It’s priceless
Something we’ll never forget
It’s transforming
It’s the biggest renovation competition EVER

Not convinced? You can see the excitable clip here.

The show is expected after Easter, likely to be 2 x 60 eps each week.

If you have any suggested phrases for Nine’s follow up ad, let’s hear them!

  1. hi everyone,
my family ,where one of the luckiest familys to get such an awsme life changing experiance, the week was amazing with all the decoraters and crew members,we can honestly say not having them around makes the house feel so empty, but everyone has a beautiful memory.
thankyou once again and i wish everyone the best.
    love nicole

  2. We were contestants on this show. I’m considered a bit of a hard case but, this truely was such a wonderful experience. I hope that it comes across on the TV as it did in real life because we all had such a hoot of a time. I am very grateful for the reno but really didn’t fully understand the impact it had on my life until now! Thank you David and Julian.

For all those future viewers out there, the designers were so talented their ideas were great.

And for all those knockers out there, lighten up. It’s just a TV show! ( nor am I sick, injured or in need of charity, we are just normal everyday people. We could be your neighbour, co-worker or siblings!)

  3. I hope the show has some real substance or proper ‘design’ effort, not the usual ‘suede effects’ decorator crud. If not, I hope the eye candy is up to the task and if all the girls are similar to the babe in pink’s standard – then 9 has a temporary ratings champ on their hands.
I wonder when the Ralph, FHM features will hit the newstands, better still a spinoff series “The designer wants a Husband” should be on the cards – sign me up blondie !

  4. This show sounds great and if you are a girl (or guy ) like myself that loves to pour through the pages of magazines like Home Beautiful etc then this is the show for us. I think this show will generate a huge audience as alot of people like nice things and nice houses…..we all live in them right!! Please tell me David, my only concern is if this is related in any way to that awful smug cheesy show Battlefronts. If it is produced and god forbid, have the same cast I will not be watching. If not, bring on Homemade I will be a massive fan.

  5. This show sounds very interesting. I would have a real challenge for a designer to renovate my house. I am on a perfect block of land but the house is awful. I bought it 10 years ago from a builder thinking that he would have done a good job wrong!!! He must have used all the crap thrown out at various sites he worked at. I have had a really tough time lately & I am told that my house is really depressing to spend time in & is not helping me get well. How would I be able to apply to get on this show??? If you come & look at the house you would understand. It doesn’t even have walls just cheap wood panelling that won’t even hold a picture up. It is very very dark. The minute you walk into it you just feel down, it needs brightening up to brighten me up. Please help!!

    Kindest regards
    Yvonne

  6. Go the reno shows, at least this beats that Current Affair grade stuff. Australia still has along way to go before the free TV catches up with that of the UK, NZ and other Western countries, thank gawd for Fox in the meantime!

  7. Its good to see so many people on here with fulfilling lives, i mean you guys must have heaps of interesting stuff to do if your sitiing around bagging out a show that hasn’t even aired yet, get a life!

  8. Listen here all of you. This is an amazing show. that person who said it exploits sick people- FYI its not for sick people. its for everyday ordinary Australians and for those of you who think channel nine have lost their touch- good riddance because I personally think its going to be a brillaint show and don’t pretend you won’t all be watching it- c’mon its Australia we’re talking about!!

  9. @ Benny,

How can you say that this is “cheap, lazy television”? I’d like to see you spend over $1 Million dollars and go renovate peoples houses, and work one house per five days!!!!!!! Get real.

  10. How about
    “It’s been done!”…
    “It’s over-rated”.
    “Just like the last one”.
    “Wow, new hourly format”.
“Oh noes, still no Jamie, but we have Scott Cam”.

  11. This sounds like a Domestic Blitz promo to me. At this rate, it won’t be long before Nine runs out of sick and injured people to exploit on these type of shows.

  12. Nine seem to be doing this alot. I noticed in all the CSI promos running they’re saying it’s the best season ever and they promoted Grissom’s last episode as the best episode ever.

  13. Rolls eyes * bring on real promo
“It’s been done to death before but we have these sponsorsand they need to flog their product plus what about these”3rd rate celebs” that are contracted to us.”
Nine , give us a break – life changing nope , try station changing.

  14. how is this going to change the world? are they going in to other countries next and doing a reno on them? how about next headline: couldn’t change ratings so axed after 4 eps. tv is getting bad these days.

  15. Always with an ‘exciting’ time frame that builds the suspense, or so they think, of if they will complete the vision in time.

All I saw was ridiculous time frames that lead to corners being cut as the teams to try win or just finish on time.

    Cheers,

    Teddy Bär
