Singers battle for top Talent prize

Two young singers battled it out on the final of Australia's Got Talent for $250,000.

agt4Fifteen year old Mark Vincent has won the third series of Australia’s Got Talent.

Vincent, a young tenor from Sydney, finished off his run with a reprisal of the popular classic Nessun Dorma. Vincent defeated 12 year old child singer Jal Joshua, who sang “Over the Rainbow.”

Vincent’s story was an emotional one given that his grandfather forced him to audition for the show, but passed away before seeing his appearance.

“I want to thank all of Australia for voting. I want to thank all my family and cousins who voted for me,” he said.

Vincent is the third young champion from the Seven talent series. He defeated William Campbell, Danik Abishev, Nobel Lakaev, Cameo Rascale, David Splatt and Red Hot Rhythm from the competition.

Last week a contestant in Britain’s Got Talent, Susan Boyle, has become a global star thanks to her rendition of a Les Miserables song posted on YouTube.

Vincent wins $250,000.

  1. Congratulations, Mark! An extremely well-deserved win.

To think we have a 15 year old brilliant operatic singer in our midst is mind-blowing!

Mark, I hope you’re able to go to Italy to live out your dream of singing opera. I only wish the late Luciano Pavarotti were alive to hear you sing. As I understand it, he loved promoting young talent and you are most definitely a talent worth promoting.

  2. Adults only, doesn’t just mean restricting it to adults.

I was meaning a AGT Uncut series. Surely they tape every act that appears, or certain acts whose judging was edited for TV, could get their time in the spotlight.

Remember the nude gutairist from Season 1?

  3. Kuttsywood – There were a lot of “adults” in AGT. Just that they were all crap. Oh those damn kids with talent! Well done Mark. I put money on you months ago.

  4. I find it odd that the male opera singer performed “Nessun Dorma” while the kiddie singer performed “Over the Rainbow”, just as Paul Potts did against runner up Connie Talbot in Britain’s got Talent. Exact same songs, pretty much in the exact same styles respectively.
