Carson donates to bushfire appeal

After a critical reaction to an appearance fee, Carson Kressley had now donated $20,000 to a Victorian Bushfire appeal.

ck1In the interests of fair play it’s only right to acknowledge that Carson Kressley is reported to have now donated $20,000 to the Victorian Bushfire relief.

It follows reports he picked up a $13,000 appearance fee for visiting survivors of Black Saturday. Other celebrities who attended as part of a Myer event are on an annual retainer, but waived their fees.

“I love Australia and watching the news coverage at home in New York I was so saddened,” Kressley said this week.

“But to visit Marysville and see the unbelievably massive destruction and to visit with the survivors and relief workers really brought it all home.

Kressley made a private visit to the Marysville area after taking part in the Whittlesea event.

“Your heart can’t help but break, but at the same time I was so inspired by families who are picking up the pieces and rebuilding.

“I wanted to do something to help.”

  1. not exactly, BBBA. There would’ve been countless people who donated out of the generosity of their hearts. You don’t know that absolutely no one donated altruistically. You don’t know.

  2. Which is precisely why everyone else donated, Jed. Every single action we perform in our lives is designed to make ourselves feel better.
