Shooting on the second series of Project Runway Australia is underway for the Arena channel.
Host Kristy Hinze returns with twelve new designers, competing for the series title at its resident home in Melbourne’s CBD.
“The designs I have seen so far in the new series are exceptional. There is so much untapped talent in this country and Project Runway Australia is all about finding it,” says Hinze.
“It’s a privilege to be able to help launch careers like we have done with series one winner Julie Grbac. The fashion industry is an exceptionally hard and cut throat world to break into but this show gives designers a platform to really showcase their skills.”
The first series was an entertaining ride, with plenty of talented aspirants and subsequently became Arena’s most popular series.
Returning once more are mentor Henry Roth, and judges Sarah Gale and Jayson Brunsdon -good to see him back after a difficult year with his health.
Max Factor becomes the new official make-up sponsor of the show and has sent International Chief Make-Up Artist Chechel Joson for the series. Joh Bailey is on board as Creative Director for hair sponsor Tresemme.
Winners will showcase their collection at ‘Rosemount Australian Fashion Week’ while Holden provides a Holden Cruze to drive home.
The second season will premiere in July 2009 on Arena.
