MasterChef heads to Hong Kong

TEN has a spicy week of episodes for its reality hit set against the backdrop of Hong Kong.

lammaTEN has a week of MasterChef Australia episodes set against the backdrop of Hong Kong, a location known for its exquisite restaurants.

These episodes kick off on June 21st. On Sunday night the group arrive at the Langham Place Hotel’s Michelin star restaurant for their first challenge: Dim Sum.

On Monday three contestants take to the water & find themselves on the small and traditional Lamma Island (pictured) and in a local fishing village, the challenge is killing & cooking their catch as the locals would. Meanwhile, the remaining two contestants are surprised with a high society challenge.

By Tuesday world famous chef Donovan Cook joins the MasterChef Australia team for one extraordinary challenge. The winner of the Lamma Island challenge takes on Donovan’s prime protégé Pak for one of the most high pressured celebrity chef challenges.

Wednesday night it’s reds against blues, and the contestant’s sights, smells, tastes and techniques are given the ultimate test as they compete in a high octane super challenge around Hong Kong.

Thursday night the super challenge losers cook off in a duck stir fry pressure test and with just 30 minutes to complete their dish, its anyones guess as to who is going home.

And on Friday in a special Hong Kong masterclass, Gary and George showcase some of the best dishes from the week. On the menu Braised pork belly and scallops, fried rice, pizza, and lemon and date scones.

These episodes wrap Friday June 26th.

  1. did anyone get the competition phone number for the trip to Hong Kong on tonights show (Thurs 25th June)? Pretty sure it’s a QLD competition only……..please post it here if you managed to jot it down.

  2. geez…its already ratings its tits off, this will only bump them higher…I dont hate it the way I did BB but i just have no interest in spending about 7 hours of my week watching a cooking show…but im pleased its doing well for TEN, its good to see them giving nine and ten a run for their money.

  3. Aww I want to be in Hong Kong right now. The food is so good, I always put on kilos when I’m there. Lamma Island is lovely, so different from the city part of HK.

  4. Should be interesting. It’s kinda like the Biggest Loser contestants going to New Zealand for a week, except those eps were shown during the Easter non-ratings period.

  5. I can’t wait to see the contestants roaming around HK as it is my birthplace. However, the Wednesday episode will be up against Rugby League State of Origin so I don’t know which one to watch.
