Seven is about to relaunch City Homicide soon, with a two hour return. It picks up where it left off, at episodes 5 and 6 of the third series.
Joining the cast are two new detectives, played by Nadia Townsend and John Adam.
Townsend, who has appeared in Head Start, Fireflies and Knowing, plays Allie Kingston.
“Allie is a great character to play because you never quite know how she will deal with a situation,” she said.
“A man holding a knife at her throat is not a problem but then she will crumble when a suspect points out her personal failures.
“It seems the writers enjoy putting her up to the challenge.”
Actor John Adam has been seen in All Saints, Water Rats, Always Greener and Underbelly.
“Playing Nick Buchanan is great. He has a no-nonsense, no-tickets-on-himself, get-the-job-done quality that I really enjoy playing. He doesn’t care what people think of him, without going out of his way to get them off side either,” he said.

Seven is not the only ones 😀
The last ep aired was 22 from what I assumed was S2. I’m going to call the new ones S3. Is it bad I still haven’t watch the last 5 eps anyway 😆
Apologises David, then Seven are confusing people. 🙂
Forgot to add Simon they have brought on new writers this series.
Yep the season finale they showed was the last episode of Series 2 of the show. The 2 hour premiere will actually be episodes 1 and 2 of Series 3 not Episodes 5 and 6. David’s confused people by wording it that way, because like Rafters they held over 8 episodes of the second series until this year.
Actually I’m going with what’s on the Seven disk, thanks. But holding off eps and rebranding them as Seven does certainly doesn’t help.
New actors? Awesome! Now all they need is a new set of writers, director and producers!
“with a two hour return.” could this be AFL states only with NRL states starting with single eps a week earlier?
“It picks up where it left off, at episodes 5 and 6 of the third series.”
There’s a whole world of What’s Wrong With Australian Television right there in that sentence.
Isn’t the upcoming episodes the start of Season 3? I thought they had simply spilt season 2 into two parts and have shown none of Season 3.
Good i’m not crazy, i was watching the promos and said who the hell is that. Are these permanent characters? I know Daniel Macpherson’s leaving but do we really need more characters??
Jed: yes.
hey david it is season 3 ep 1 because seven held over the last 8 eps of season 2 just like they did with packed to the rafters
Wait I thought they ended with the S2 final?
