Jesse back in the House

Hurrah. Jesse Spencer and Jennifer Morrison will be back in the central storylines of House next season.

jesse-spencer04Following on from that alluring trailer for the sixth season of House comes confirmation today that Jesse Spencer and Jennifer Morrison will move back to the heart of the series.

It comes after two seasons on the sidelines (something a Grey’s Anatomy star would never put up with!).

“They are both thrown back into their old jobs,” Morrison told EW.com. “It’s been great actually. I have been working a lot and there are things that happen to House very early in the season that have a domino effect on all of the other characters.”

Omar Epps, who plays Dr. Eric Foreman, will be filling in House‘s role while our anti-hero becomes a patient in a psychiatric ward.

“Cameron was always very close and protective of House,” she says. “And to have her mentor be away in an asylum makes her contemplate life and career and him. Having him gone affects everyone he works with, personally and professionally.

“This season starts a few months from where we left off last season in the finale and Chase and Cameron are finding their groove as a married couple,” says Morrison.

“That might put some strain on the marriage.”

Which is kinda ironic given Spencer and Morrison once called off their own engagement.

Still, it should be great to see Jesse Spencer getting more airtime on the show once more.

Meanwhile writer David Shore recently said the House-Cuddy stories will shift more into the background this year.

“We’re stepping back from it a little bit,” he said. “We’re not ignoring it. We have to carry forward… It’s going to go someplace eventually. But the beginning of this season is primarily focused on House trying to find some semblance of sanity, and not completely succeeding.”

  1. I’m glad they’re changing the direction because House has really gone down hill of late, it’s one of those shows that started out top notch but every time they made a change (the ex girlfriend, he businessman running the hospital, the obsessive cop, changing the team) it dropped down a notch!

On a personal note if Cameron is going to be playing a larger part I hope she goes back to being a brunette.
