The (Angolan) Simpsons

simpsonsThe Simpsons have had a makeover by an ad agency in Angola.

The show is about to screen there so the agency in south central Africa localised Homer and his clan.

Marge’s giant blue hairdo has been switched for a jet black one, while Lisa’s spiky hair has been braided.

All the characters have been dressed in African-style clothing with even the living room details slightly adjusted to the tiny country.

  1. @mac : As the source is The Sun, I wouldn’t expect normal
journalistic accuracy, necessarily. 🙂 Perhaps it’s “tiny”
relative to some of the other more huge African states?
Or The Sun researcher just clicked on “Andorra” by mistake…:-)

  2. @si williams, not sure what that’s about, and it can’t be referring to population, as anogla has about 16 million people according to encarta, @tv tonightkiid an article in the hs, says how this is just a promotion and the series will remain the same when aired in angola, sillygostly, you can see an Indian version of the opening theme on youtube(albeit unofficial).

  3. That is so bloody cool. 😀

Frankly I’m a little disappointed that they’ve never done such a couch gag on the show (featuring the Simpsons made over in different ethnic backgrounds). I’d love to see what the Simpsons would look like if they were African-American or Oriental. 😛 Damn political correctness. Damn it, I say!

I’m sure it’s just an ad. There’s little point in reanimating the entire series for a very specific (and miniscule) audience.
