  1. mnm new channels could it be showtime horror or kids which is fox kids they use to have fox kids and my favourite shows such as digimon and the power rangers. Or for some entertainment they should have a channel that has wrestling boxing mma all sorts of fight. They should call it t
he wfec world fighting entertainment channel. I wrekon that austar should have showtime scifi and horror. People want to see movies and great sport channels

  2. You need to have socks on before you can pull them up, Austar. The MyStar box is a joke and a farce as it is, not a patck on Foxtel’s IQ box. It’d be great if they’d sort out some of the bugs on their inferior boxes before trying to add more channels.

  3. @craig, you can get around the “can’t hook up a DVD to record shows” issue. Buy a TV tuner card for your computer. then hook up the mystar to the tv tuner card via the Yellow-Red-White cables. My tv tuner card came with WinFast software. Its not great but it lets u record whatever is being watched on Mystar at the time to your computer.

  4. Still not sure about MyStar (or MyStar HD) as you can’t hook up a DVD to record shows you want to keep and really in HD 30 hours is no enough for me.

I wonder if there will be a non MyStar version of the HD unit for Austar, I don’t want to pay extra for a unit I don’t use.

On the upside good to hear about new channels but at what cost, will the monthly fee go up? Also what about updating the likes of TV1, Arena and Comedy Ch to 16×9 or HD?

  5. Have’nt we got enough Sports, News and Documentaries Channels already were there should be more Kids, Family and Music Channels including ones we
have’nt got yet in Australia. Like MTV 2, Nicktoons, Disney XD and ESPN 2 plus Spike TV for Men.

  6. Let’s speculate here…

    > four new movie channels,
Showtime Action, Showtime Comedy, Showtime Drama, Family Movie Channel?

    >four new sports channels,
The Golf Channel, GolTV, Fox Sports Classics, Fox Sports 4, Fox Sports 5?

    >three more news and documentary channels,
Sky News Local, BBC Knowledge, Discovery Turbo?

    > a murder mystery channel,
    13th Street?

    > two ad-free, educational kids channels
    CBeebies and KidsCo?

    > new lifestyle channel.
    Lifestyle You?

  7. What ever happened to interactive tv on regular free to air services? Those red, green, blue and yellow buttons were meant to be for interactive services yet nothing has happened since 2001.
